Women in Logistics sat in a panel discussion on “The case for inclusion and belonging when times are tough”, exploring why inclusive leadership matters most when pressure is high, resources are limited and change is constant.

A Day in the Life of Amy Vervat

In this video, we follow Amy Vervat, truck driver at Royal Den Hartogh Logistics, as she takes us along on a day behind the wheel. From early starts to navigating long routes, Amy gives an authentic look into the responsibility, focus, and pride that come with keeping logistics moving.

Female truck driver workshop

We joined our board members and IRU to explore the day‑to‑day reality of women behind the wheel. We collected actionable input on truck‑cab ergonomics, physical tasks, safety conditions, and social prejudice.

These insights will drive concrete actions within our driver working group, making the role more attractive, safer, and sustainable.

A big thank‑you to all participants for your openness and recommendations, and to Royal Den Hartogh Logistics ,for organizing.

Our 15th Board Meeting, hosted by Royal Den Hartogh Logistics in Rotterdam, brought all board members and plus ones together to strengthen our mission: competitiveness, sustainability and safety in European chemical logistics.

H.Essers hosted the ‘Delectable Dining & Diversity Discours’ lunch debate as part of the Women in Logistics series.

This event focused on the “top-down” dimension of the WIL Consortium plan, emphasizing the role of leadership in driving meaningful change.
We explored the critical roles that leaders must play in closing the gender gap in our industry, discussing topics like leadership purpose, cultural transformation, and role modeling.
